Faerie Snapper
As pixy children flitter by,
They may hear vinewhips crack.
Knowing their err far too late,
They become the Snapper's snack.
Its petals closed in disguise,
Then unleash jaws in full bloom.
To feel the touch of its tongue,
Is undeniable doom.
The Snapper waits in the forest deep,
It prefers its meals be fresh.
Lying in wait for the time-
It may feast on faerie flesh.
To not heed the elders' warning,
Is the path to one's downfall.
Dryad, fairy, elf, or nymph-
The Snapper takes you all!
While human children fear the dark,
And bear cubs fear the trapper,
Pixy youth are most unwise-
To dare not fear the Snapper.
